Through the Acorn app we’re able to support businesses that make our communities thrive. Everyday we learn more about our activity providers and their inspiring efforts to enrich the wellbeing of children and families. Today, we're featuring Lacey Madden from Pineapple Explorers Club.
1. Please tell us a little about yourself and your business
Name -- Lacey Madden
Speciality -- In-home group musical adventure classes
Business launched -- January 2016
Location -- NYC
2. What motivates you to take children on musical adventures versus traditional class styles?
We think classes should be less performative and more interactive. It's more beneficial for the little ones, and more fun for the parents, who should enjoy our classes too! We use voices and props to engage the children in educational play. The little ones learn and the parents hear great music. Everybody wins!
3. Tell us about a favorite moment at Pineapple Explorers Club.
I am lucky to see a lot of firsts: First crawls, first steps, first words. It makes me so proud of my students, but the parents' reactions are even better!
4. You use the entertainment immersion method. What’s that?
The entertainment immersion method engages a child’s natural love of play and learning through repetition. Our class follows a similar structure week-to-week, so the little ones can actually master what we are teaching.
5. Do you have any new projects or exciting things we should know about?
Yes! We were just at the Kids Food Festival and the St. Joe’s Street Fair. Be sure to stay updated with all of our events and new classes through our website.
